Today Wavefront announces a new initiative to create, working with the ITU, an Antennae Pattern Library (APL-UM-001) Toolbox in MATLAB®. MATLAB® is a high-level language and interactive environment that enables you to perform computationally intensive tasks faster than with traditional programming languages.
With this new toolbox you’ll have all the antennae patterns from the ITU’s Antenna Patterns Reference Manual at hand. You’ll be able to do custom interference analysis using MATLAB’s speed and power along with ITU-R validated subroutines. Modeling space and earth station antennas will be quick and easy because with the APL you’ll be able to insert the antenna pattern that is most applicable to your particular situation.
The toolbox will be distributed under the GNU public license. Wavefront’s release date for the APL is the Fall of 2011.
